Founded a consulting and training business focused on new business creation. Please see  www.morganllc.com

·        Instructor at MIT to teach Entrepreneurship and Sales to engineering undergraduates.

·        Developed courses under MIT sponsorship for a continuing executive education program in Entrepreneurship.  Delivered over 60 multi-day programs to over 1200 executive participants.

·        Consulted with a variety of startups and corporations on new venture creation.

·        Extensive speaking engagements on entrepreneurship and sales.

·        Developed proprietary investment screens, and raised a small investment Fund.

 

Airflow Research - Robert Bosch gmbh                                                   1981-1999

President and CEO                                                                                        1981-1990

Founded Airflow Research and Manufacturing Corp in my basement, and grew it to over $100 Million in annual sales, with excellent profitability.  Airflow Research developed and supplied radiator cooling fan assemblies to the Automotive Industry, using technology developed for submarine and torpedo propellers.

·        Assembled team, partners, business plan, money, and technology

·        Developed and patented the technology that is still the core of the business today

·        Competed for and won over 80% of the available Automotive OEM supply business in North America during the period 1986-1999

·        Expanded to European market.  Competed for and won a significant market share with European Auto OEMs.

·        Responsible for all aspects of the business, including sales, engineering, R&D, administration, and finance. 

·        Led the sale of the business to Robert Bosch Corp. in 1990, including negotiation and due diligence.

VP of New Product Development and Member of the Board               1991-1995

Key executive for Bosch after acquisition.  

·        Managed the successful transition of the business from a startup to a division of a multi-national organization.  Retained all key team members for over 5 years.

·        Responsible for the acquisition of all new business, and the growth into other areas, both technical and geographic

·        Grew business to over $100 Million in sales by 1995.

·        Developed licensees or manufacturing capability in most automobile producing countries in the world

·        Delivered 7x the “corporate average profitability” over a 5-year period.

Internal Consultant to Bosch                                                              1995-1999

Stepped down from active management in 1995, and accepted position as an internal consultant on business issues.

·        Merged the organization with 2 other Bosch units in North America

·        Consulted on issues of organization and sales

·        Developed principles of “Entrepreneurship” and started teaching this subject at MIT

 

Bolt Beranek and Newman                                                                           1972-1980

Senior Scientist

Consulted in highly-classified underwater and airborne noise, signal processing, and propeller design

·        Sold, managed, and delivered complex projects for demanding clients in US Navy

·        Authored over 60 papers, reports and articles in these technical areas
